John Racioppo, part of the Fault Line Theatre communications team, will be appearing in an outdoor production of She Stoops To Conquer by Oliver Goldsmith throughout July with Hudson Warehouse Theatre Company. First performed in 1773, She Stoops to Conquer is a little farce, a little Restoration Comedy, and a little comedy of manners. Performances are Pay What You Can in Riverside Park and run through July. What better way to spend a Summer evening?

A LITTLE ABOUT THE PLAY
An English countryman tries to set his daughter, Kate, up with a wealthy young Londoner named Charles Marlowe. However, Marlowe has a strange affliction which makes him overly nervous around upper-class women and confident around working-class women. Too put her suitor’s nerves at ease, Kate elects to pretend that she is a servant of the manor. Part farce, part comedy of errors, She Stoops to Conquer changed the trajectory of English comedy, influencing writers from Oscar Wilde to Monty Python.
